At the core of our platform lies a simple idea: football is best understood when numbers are given context, structure, and consistency. Our methodology is built on a foundation of data science, tactical understanding, and continuous learning — designed to transform raw match events into meaningful insights.

01

Data Standardisation:
The "Per 90" Principle

Equal footing for every player

One of the biggest challenges in football analytics is comparability. Players operate under vastly different conditions — minutes played, team roles, match tempo, and tactical systems all influence raw statistics. To address this, every metric on our platform is standardised on a per 90 minutes basis.

This approach ensures that all players are evaluated on equal footing. Whether a player has featured in 300 minutes or 3,000, their output is normalised to reflect what they would produce over a full match. The result is a fair, consistent framework that allows for accurate comparison across leagues, teams, and positions.

02

Expected Goals (xG):
Measuring Chance Quality

Beyond simple shot counts

Expected Goals is one of the cornerstones of modern football analysis. Our xG model evaluates every shot based on a wide range of contextual factors. Each shot is assigned a probability value representing the likelihood of it resulting in a goal — aggregated to reveal how dangerous those chances truly were.

Shot location and distance from goal
Angle to the goal at the moment of contact
Type of assist — cross, through ball, set piece, and more
Body part used: foot, head, or other
Defensive pressure and positioning, where available
03

Expected Assists (xA):
The Value of Creation

Quantifying contribution beyond conversion

While goals often define outcomes, creation is equally critical. Expected Assists measures the quality of chances a player creates for teammates. Instead of focusing on whether a pass became a goal, xA evaluates whether it should have.

By linking pass data to the xG value of the resulting shot, we quantify a player's creative contribution independently of finishing. This allows us to highlight players who consistently generate high-quality opportunities, even if those chances are not always converted.

"A player who generates 0.30 xA per 90 over an entire season is consistently creating genuine goal threats — regardless of the scoreline."

04

Heatmaps:
Spatial Intelligence

Where a player operates matters

Understanding where a player operates is just as important as understanding what they do. Our heatmaps are generated using detailed positional event data, mapping every on-ball action across the pitch. We apply density estimation techniques to visualise movement and involvement zones.

Positional tendencies and preferred receiving zones
Areas of maximum influence during build-up and transition
Tactical roles within a specific system — pressing triggers, cover shadows, and off-ball runs

These visualisations uncover patterns that traditional statistics miss — such as inverted full-backs drifting into midfield, or forwards dropping deep to facilitate build-up play.

05

Beyond the Basics:
Advanced Indicators

A fuller picture of on-pitch impact

In addition to xG and xA, our platform incorporates a wide range of advanced indicators. Each metric is carefully defined and contextually framed to ensure it reflects real on-pitch impact rather than isolated events.

Progressive Passes & Carries
Actions that move the ball at least 10m closer to goal, or into the final third.
Final Third Entries
Passes and carries that successfully penetrate the opposition's defensive third.
Pressures & Defensive Actions
Pressing intensity, tackle success, interceptions, and recoveries per 90.
Passing Networks & Build-up
Connection frequency, combination play patterns, and positional involvement in sequences.

Continuous Learning
& Model Development

A framework that evolves with the game

Our analytical framework is not static. It evolves alongside the game itself. We have built our methodology on knowledge acquired through specialised courses and certifications from leading institutions in the field of football analytics — providing a rigorous foundation in data modelling, tactical interpretation, and applied statistics.

However, we see this as just the beginning. We are actively expanding our expertise, refining our models, and integrating new data sources to improve accuracy and depth. Our goal is to remain at the forefront of football analytics — delivering insights that are not only precise, but also meaningful.
